The shops are starting to put up their Christmas decorations which means we’re beginning to head towards the festive season. We’ve done a round up of the Christmas markets and family events to send you through to December.
Thornhill Fete
Date: Friday the 16th November
Time:17:00-20:30
Thornhill school have their fete on again. There will be stalls, rides, food and fun for everyone. There will also be paintball target, a giant slide, gyro sphere and a sticky wall.
P10 Entrance Fee
Sanitas Christmas Pop-Up Market
Date: Saturday the 17th of November
Time: 10:00- 15:00
With over 40 unique stalls this is going to be a good one. They will be selling homemade and locally produced goods.
There appears to be no Entrance Fee.
Christmas Phakalane Pop-Up Market
Date: Saturday the 24th of November 2018
Time: 9:00-16:00
The Phakalane Pop-up market goes on all year, but their Christmas one is always huge. There will be homemade goods, delicious treats, plants and fresh produce. As well as leather goods, Tupperware and home-ware. Just Alice cakes will be there for those with a sweet tooth.

BSPCA Christmas Fair
Date: 23rd of November
Time: 16:00- 21:00
If you went to the market last year you will know that it was an evening to remember.
There is an Entrance fee but unsure what it is at this stage.
Honeycomb Hub Children’s Christmas Festival
Date: 24th of November
Time: 9:00- 12:00
It’s the Honeycomb Woods children’s book launch. There will also be a Santa’s village with Father Christmas. They also are having a Christmas family photography sessions available with Annerike De Wet. These need to be booked.
KingdomCity will be doing a Nativity performance and there will be music by HoneyBeats.
Guy Fawkes At The Gaborone Cricket Club
Date: 24th of November.
Time: 15:00- 23:30
It’s back, the biggest pyrotechnic display in Botswana. There will be a play area for the kids. There will also be food and drinks stalls.
Entrance Fee is P100 for adults. Kids under 10 are free. For a Vip ticket and car pass it’s P500.
Carols By Candlelight
Date: Sunday the 25th of November 2018
Venue: Grand Palm GICC
Time: 15:00 for the market and 18:30 for the carols
This is a fantastic event. There’ll be Christmas stalls, Santa’s grotto, a kids play area, arts and crafts. There will also be a Santa’s postbox so don’t forget those letters. This year Thornhill will be there with their choir, orchestra and marimba band. Please note, bring your own picnic blanket or chairs.
Your Entrance Fee is a toy for a child in need. Please mark these with boy or girl and what age the gift should be for.
Christmas Fair At Bull and Bush
Date: 1st of December 2018
Time: 10:00- 15:00
This will be like their usual fairs but bigger and better.
Entrance is usually free.
