Can you believe 2018 is disappearing so quickly and the Christmas holidays are around the corner. This year there seems to be more people staying in Gabs than ever before. With lots of families around how are people going to be entertained? Well we’ve done a roundup of the holiday programmes and family friendly events to keep everyone festive and having fun. We have also spoken to some of the Gaborone’s favourite family spots to see when they’ll will be open and closed.
Bala After School Holiday School

This is going to be a festive time for all. Kids between 3-13 will be having a ball. They’ll be making X-mas decorations, reading and even doing new year goal planning. There will also be cooking happening. Yum. If that’s not enough there is also a Christmas party. This holiday program is open from 8:00-12:30.

Northside Primary School

Dibini’s holiday programme is one of the best around! Comprised of arts & crafts, games, sports, reading stories and of course dance. Every child that goes enjoys the playtime with friends. Suitable for ages 3-8. Time is 7:30-13:00.

17th-21st of December
Excel golf is a kids camp for golfing beginners and children with experience. We’ve heard great things. The golf equipment, water and a snack are provided. This is for kids aged 5-16.

Block 3 Industrial
Price: P150 for a drop in, P650 for the week.
Unlike most holiday programmes this runs almost all of the December and January break.
Inplay have got their aircons working well which is great because its sweltering out there. Beyond the normal drop in, Inplay have a wonderful holiday programme. There are two time slots. One is 10:30-13:30. The other is 14:00-17:00.

The Jack and Jill Team offer an all-rounded program to keep your busy children happy during the holiday. It runs from 8am -1pm. The December holiday programme is all about Christmas. Every day the kids will make a decoration that will go on a mini tree. These they get to take home. They also will do lots of fun activities like baking, cooking, painting, crafts, dress up, water play, mud play and colouring. Students over 2 and under age 6, from any nursery school, are welcome to attend.

They’re open between 7:30 and 12:30. Children and siblings from other schools are also welcome. The theme this time is everything Christmas. This holiday programme is always well attended. There will be lots of fun had by all.

The activity club has a range of art, science, writing, singing and drama. They also give free access to tiny town. It runs from 9-12. It includes some juice and some fruit as a snack. This is for primary school kids and siblings over the age of 4.

Super Kids Camp is back this December to give your children the amazing holiday experience they deserve and memories to last a lifetime. Join them as they embark on yet another epic fun filled adventure. They believe that adventure is what childhood is really about. Every day will be uniquely-tailored in terms of content and delivery. This allows the kids to try out fun activities and challenges no matter their age or ability.
They have a little tots programme for kids under 4 and a standard programme for kids aged 4-12.

Advent is fantastic and he always has a fun filled holiday camp. This one includes gymnastics, yoganastics, arts and crafts, soccer and much more. Bring your own snacks but fruit is available for free. There is also water for sale.

Places To Visit- Opening And Closings
Open most of the holiday. Only closed on Christmas day and New Years day.
Inplay is open lots over the holidays. Yay! They are however closed on 24th, 25th, 31st of December. Oh and the 1st of January.
They’re closed from the 17th to 21st December and 27th to 28th of December. Otherwise normal opening hours. Lily’s also have a New Years Eve Family Picnic.
Is open throughout the festive season. (They told us they’re even open on the public holidays.)
Is open every day except 24th of December. If you haven’t been this is a fantastic time to try is out.
Restaurant closed on the 24th of December and re-opens on the 8th of January.

Christmas At The Yacht Club
Sunday the 16th of December
12:00-18:00. (Lunch served at 13:00)
We went to this last year and it was fantastic. Father Christmas arrives at 15:00 so be sure to stick around. Adults are P150, kids under 12 are P75 and under 5 are free. Parents are to provide a gift with a value of P100-P150. (No more, no less.)

Santa Claus Is Coming To Serbia
Saturday the 8th of December
This is at the Serbian Society at the Craft Market. Program starts at 16:00, special Santa time starts at 17:00. It’s P150 per child. This includes a gift for them and a meal. Adults are free. Serbian burgers will be on sale for adults.
