The weather is officially changing. It’s getting colder every day which means that I want to snuggle up on my weekends and relax. However, my child doesn’t have the same desire. That’s why it’s a good thing that there are some family-friendly events this month. I’ll have to ditch the blankets and get outdoors. There are also lots happening over Father’s Day so don’t forget to have a look at our round-up.

Furry Yoga
Saturday 1st of June
Cost: P50 for an individual and P80 if you bring your pet
Time: 10 pm to 1 pm
Want to make Yoga fun? Join the BSPCA on the 1st of June for a Furry Yoga session at the shelter. 3 hours of fun body toning, with the help of your pets of course.

Cuppa Love
Friday 7th of June
Time: It starts at 10 am.
Cuppa love is a FREE coffee morning for new and expectant mothers. It’s designed to bring mums together and experience for yourselves the positive effects of love and connection in our community.
This part of an amazing global campaign that SensoBaby’s proud to be part of to promote the importance of bonding for babies, children, and parents. It’s called ‘Love Creates Love’ and is led by Blossom and Berry, the UK-based experts in baby massage.

The Market Place
Saturday the 8th of June
Time: 10 am to 6 pm
Price: P30 per person. Kids under 12 are free
This is a new one for us. Livingstone Kolobeng College, in Block 8 from is hosting a The Market Place pop-up Market.
They say it’ll bring you an amazing outdoor shopping experience, kiddies corner with lots of activities as well as performances from local artists, dancers and DJs. Sounds like lots of activities for every member of the family.

This is a firm winter favourite. Sip on gluhwein whilst you shop.

Serbian Society Family Fun Day
Saturday the 22nd of June
Saint Sava Temple in Phakalane
Price: P150. Children under 12 are free
There will be face painting, music and food. For the kids to get rid of some extra energy there will be jumping castle.

Take A Walk On The Wild Side
Sunday 23rd of June
Mokolodi
Cost: P150 for 5km, P200 for 10 km and P50 for children.
Time: 7 am
Take a walk on the wild side. This is a fundraising walk/run through the beautiful scenery of Mokolodi Nature Reserve followed by a wellness event.
If you come to this one you might even see us attempting to run. Eeek.

Rock Culture
Saturday the 29th of June
Planet Lodge
Cost: Normal tickets are P100, VIP tickets are P250 (Limited)
This is an event that will be representing African culture through fashion, live music and food. Call 3910116 for more information.
The Bark and Bite
Why not head to the Bark and Bite at the BSPCA for some delicious coffee and cake. It’s a great place to spend a Saturday morning.

GGC 5km Walk, Jog, Run
Every Monday evening
Gaborone Golf Club
Time: 5pm and it’s FREE
This event happens every week on a Monday. It’s a well organized and is a timed event. The real athletes can race off into the distance whilst others can simply walk. Kids are welcome to join in the fitness fun and lots of parents bring their strollers along. This is a great family event.

Time: 9 am to 12 pm
The HoneyComb Hub have Table top sale that happens every two months. This is a chance to buy pre-loved items and sell those things that are cluttering up your cupboards.
