For many of us, the end of the winter term is a relief. A sign that lighter and warmer mornings will be upon us soon. However, it also means we have a months holiday in which we have to entertain our children.
If you’re wondering how on earth to keep your kids busy and engaged over the August holidays don’t worry we have done our usual roundup of August holiday programmes. There are the normal favourites and a few newcomers.

Brookhills Montessori has a fun-filled camp this August. There will be plenty of play happening. They have weekly themes. As well as crafts, music and dance. There will also be cooking and science classes.

Camp Botswana is now working with Mokoldi. They have is a kids camp focusing on fun and adventure.
There are lots of different activities such as giraffe tracking, learning survival skills, various workshops and even paintball. The package includes all activities, meals and materials. For ages 6-14 years. The fun kicks off at 8 am.

Cinderella takes children from the ages 9 months up to 10-year-olds. Their teachers will help your children complete their holiday homework and supply them with worksheets. There will also be an arts and crafts project to complete every day.
Tutoring is also provided at an extra cost. Please contact their office for the price.

Dibini’s holiday programme is one of the best around! Comprised of arts & crafts, games, sports, reading stories and of course dance. Every child that goes enjoys the playtime with friends. Suitable for ages 3-8. Time is 7:30-13:00. You must sign-up before the end of term because Sanne buys items for the holiday programme early. Also, be warned, this one fills up super fast.

Excel Golf Camp

Excel golf is a kids camp for golfing beginners and children with experience. We’ve heard great things. The golf equipment, water and a snack are provided. This is for kids aged 5-16. The camp runs for 9am-12pm.

We’ve heard from the Honeycomb Hub that they are doing their Honeycomb Wood book course during the first week of the school holiday. Your child writes and illustrates there own book!
The price includes a copy of your child’s printed book, Honeycomb Wood putting it on Amazon and a book launch event.
We also believe they will be doing more programmes. We’ll keep you updated.

Inplay have got you covered with holiday activities for your little ones. They have new activities and longer hours! Just book a week, a couple of days or a day of fun! Their sessions run from 10am – 1pm or 2pm – 5pm.

The Jack and Jill Team offer an all-rounded program to keep your busy children happy during the holiday. As you can see each week has a different theme.
They also will do lots of fun activities like baking, painting, crafts, dress up, water play, mud play, and colouring. Students over 2 and under age 6, from any nursery school, are welcome to attend. It runs from 8:00 -13:00. This is a firm favourite amongst the August holiday programmes.

Mai’s Aquatic Centre is running a swimming camp this August. This is a great way to get your kids back into swimming before summer. Drop off is at 8:30 and pick up is at 11:30. Bring your own towel, swimming cap and costume. Also, remember to pack a change of clothes, snacks and a drink.

Gaborone Golf Club
Every Tuesday and Thursday morning of the holiday.
Nomads Junior Golf just hit our radar and we love it. Nomads organize for junior golfers to enjoy the game at the Gaborone Golf Club. Children play 9 or 18 holes depending on their ability.
Each child needs to bring their own mini golf set. This is for children aged 6 – 18. Parents can either drop their kids off and pick them up around 11:30. Or they can enjoy a relaxing coffee and cake from the Tea Hut at the Gaborone Golf Club
