Easter Sunday means something different to each of us, for me, it is a weekend of religious celebration and a weekend to be grateful for everything we have. I think that given our current circumstances, it’s extra important to look for the positives in everything. To find things to be grateful for each day. Below are ways that I think will make this year extra fun.
Easter Baking
It is so much fun to bake with our kids. No doubt messier but so worth it. Here are some links to a couple of Easter baking activities to do at home that I love.

Fun Ideas For Sunday

Easter Party and Bonnet Parade
It’s time to celebrate! So, let’s do just that. Get everyone dressed up in their favourite outfits. Use all the artwork that you’ve been doing to decorate your living room or room of your choice and put on your beautiful Easter bonnets. If you want artwork ideas or bonnet inspiration have a look at my previous blog post, Easter Arts, Crafts & Fun
Why not put on some dance music and have a party. Make simple or fancy mocktails, finger snacks and put out your Easter baking for the family to enjoy. You can play games such as musical bumps/chairs, play Easter bingo (see below) or any other board games. Spend some time together as a family and just have fun!
Easter Bingo
Please see attached an awesome free printable Easter bingo game from The Arty Party in South Africa. They did some great free printables for kids during the first lockdown. Download them off this Dropbox Link
Certificate
Also from the Arty Party is this super cute certificate. How cute is it?

Church
I’m sure your church is offering some sort of online prayer, but if not these are two that I’ve found have great online church services.

Easter Egg Hunt
My all-time favourite, the Easter egg hunt. This is loved by all of us, even the adults. We don’t all have big spaces or gardens for Easter this year, so time to get imaginative with ideas on where to hide Easter eggs.
For older children, you can create clues on pieces of egg-shaped paper that lead them to hidden eggs or even draw a treasure map marking spots where the eggs are hidden. For some added fun, wear your Easter bonnets again for the egg hunt.
Easter Sunday Lunch
This Sunday is a great time to facetime with family and friends. Many families usually have a big Easter meal at some point over this weekend.
For my family, it’s always Sunday lunch and this year we have decided we are still having a big family lunch, just this time it will be via video call. I’m making a favourite meal, setting the table, and wearing something other than the pyjamas. Haha. Then sitting down to enjoy a meal and conversation with my family and closest friends.
We may not be together physically, but we can still enjoy each other’s company and celebrate this special time of the year.
Easter Workout
This will help burn some of those calories from all the Easter eggs. By the end of the weekend, there’s no doubt that most of us will be feeling guilty with all the yummies we would have eaten. So why not challenge the whole family to a fun workout. Joe Wicks workouts are taking the world by storm. Ok so maybe this will be done on Monday. Hehe.
I hope you’ve enjoyed these ideas. Have a wonderfully blessed day on Sunday.
In fact, I have one last challenge for everyone, not just this Sunday but to do every day. To think about all our blessings in life and to find one new thing to be grateful for each day. This is also very important for our children, to understand that no matter what we go through or whatever challenges lie ahead, we take them on with a grateful heart and a positive attitude.
HAPPY EASTER to all of you.
