It’s during these trying times that we need to band together more than ever. That’s why we had some of the Mums talking about parenting in our beautiful country, Botswana, and what makes it special. As well as giving us a few gems of wisdom along the way.

The best thing about raising a family in Botswana.
We are privileged to experience the different freedoms that Botswana provides. It creates peace of mind knowing that your daughters will get an equal chance at success and opportunity to their male counterparts. In my opinion, living in a society that recognises women’s rights and freedoms promises a better tomorrow.

The best thing about raising a family in Botswana.
The sense of community is very comforting. It always has been one of the most reassuring things about raising a family in Botswana. I remember trying to figure out the hows and whats of motherhood with little experience.
My saving grace was being able to reach out to family, friends, elderly ladies at the clinic with plenty of experience and my colleagues. We have a village raising our son.
Gems Of Wisdom
Never feel guilty for needing a break. I know it is easier said than done, but the outcome will be a much happier child because you took care of yourself too. We often put ourselves last. It is important for your child to mirror self-love, through watching you do that for yourself.
Thank you for reading. If you missed Part 1 of Parenting in Botswana, you can find it here. Have a wonderful day, you always deserve it.
