The Bark and Bite Cafe is situated at the Botswana Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (BSPCA). It’s run by volunteers and so is currently only open on Saturdays.
The Cafe is housed under a cool thatched lapa and has impressive decor. It has a bustling vibe and the volunteer staff are friendly and helpful .
The Bark and Bite cafe operates through donations with a reasonable suggested donation of P20 for a coffee, P15 for soft drinks and P20 for a cake.
A Family Day Out
Aside from the cafe, the BSPCA has so much on offer for families who want to visit. It has new play area to keep your little ones entertained and you can all also visit the resident animals. Not just dogs and cats but some cows, a goat, some rabbits and a pen full of puppies. There is also the option of volunteering to walk the dogs and the shelter staff are happy to arrange this for you.
The BSPCA bookshop have a huge selection of books, well categorized and at bargain prices. By the same token thee volunteer staff are happy to help you find what you need and the prices are very reasonable.
Opening Hours: The shelter itself is open daily from 10 am to 5 pm.
Adoption fees: P750 for a dog, P300 for a cat. This covers sterilization and vaccinations
Adoption rules: ALL animals will be sterilized and home checks are applied to make sure the new home is suitable for pets.
