Dipeo Nursery School is the Maru-a-Pula home of the Peo Group of Schools, a family-run group that has been part of early childhood education in Botswana since 1997. At Dipeo, we offer a full day of care and learning, from newborn daycare through to preschool, aftercare, and holiday programmes, all designed to support both children and their families.

From the moment you walk through our doors, you will feel the heart of our school. Our open foyer, with its coffee and tea station, creates a space where parents can pause, connect, and feel at home. We truly believe in an open-door approach, where parents are always welcome to come in, chat, and be part of their child’s day.

We are a Christian school, and our values guide everything we do. Kindness, respect, love, and integrity are part of our everyday teaching, and we aim to nurture not only confident learners, but strong character in each child. We believe every child is created with purpose, and it is our role to gently guide and support them as they grow.

At Dipeo, we follow a learn-through-play approach, laying a strong and meaningful foundation for each child’s future. Through play, exploration, and guided learning, children develop confidence, independence, and a love for learning in a natural and engaging way.

We are an inclusive school, and this is something we hold very close to our hearts. We welcome all children and embrace the uniqueness each one brings. Within our classes, you will find children with different strengths, personalities, and developmental needs learning alongside one another. We provide support where needed, including a dedicated sensory room and therapy room, ensuring that every child is given the opportunity to thrive in a way that suits them best.

Our classes are carefully grouped based on both age and developmental readiness, allowing children to grow at their own pace. Each day includes a balance of structured learning and play, with three large playgrounds where children can explore, move, and enjoy being outdoors in age-appropriate spaces.

In addition to our core programme, children take part in a variety of activities such as Monkeynastix, Kindermusik, swimming lessons, Bible classes, Judo, Ballet and Setswana lessons, creating a well-rounded and enriching school experience.

One of the most loved parts of the day is visiting our animals. Feeding the rabbits in the morning has become a special routine for many of our little ones. It is a simple moment, but one that builds confidence, compassion, and a sense of responsibility. Many parents tell us that this small activity makes all the difference in helping their children happily settle into the day. “If I send my daughter in with carrots for the bunnies, she happily leaves my side to go to class” says one Dipeo parent.

Dipeo forms part of the Peo Group of Schools, founded by Christine West in 1997 and now proudly led by Leesha St Quintin, continuing the same vision and heart behind the schools.. Over the years, the group has grown to include Dipeo in Maruapula, Peo in Block 7 and Peo Mela in Phakalane, with each school offering the same programmes, values, and approach.

We are also proud to have opened Peo Primary School in 2020, extending our journey with families beyond the early years. The primary school carries the same loving, faith-based and nurturing environment, while following the Cambridge curriculum. With a strong focus on inclusion, our classrooms continue to support children of all abilities, ensuring each child feels valued, supported, and able to grow with confidence.

We are proud to be a 100% citizen-owned business, with a strong focus on developing and supporting our Motswana staff. Many of our team members have been with us for over 15 years, which speaks to the sense of family within our schools.

As Leesha shares, working with children is both a great responsibility and a great privilege. There is nothing more rewarding than watching them grow, develop, and become confident in who they are.

With schools located in Maru-a-Pula, Phakalane, and Block 7, families are able to access the same quality of care and education across all Peo schools.

At Dipeo, every child is known, valued, and loved. It is a place where children feel safe, supported, and free to grow into who they are meant to be — building a strong foundation for life.
