Family Fun

Woodlands Stop Over is along a riverbed. You can go out for a few nights and have a family fun holiday. Moreover you can buy braai packs and wood on site so that makes life easier.

You can camp in your own tents on an immaculate lawn with braai facilities, power and water points. Rumour has it that it’s the best campsite in Africa!

Additionally there are comfortable chalets if that’s what you prefer. They sleep two and have linen and tea/coffee facilities provided. In the chalets you would then make use of the spacious and spotlessly clean centralized ablution facilities. Attached to each chalet is a private braai.

There is also river view rooms that are tastefully decorated. Each room consists of two beds, en-suite facilities and a user friendly, fully equipped kitchenette. Braai facilities are also provided. Included is a light continental breakfast.

Furthermore there is the homely Woodlands Cottage that you can stay in. It has an abundance of original art and will be a most welcome stop for relaxing and sipping their own in house Old Hunters Road wine. This cottage has all the features of home (plus more) and also provides you with a light continental breakfast. It also has a private braai area on the river’s edge. Yes there are a lot of braai areas.

A Point of Interest

There is a rock wall and genuine refurbished wagon at the entrance. They are there to remember hunters, missionaries, photographers and explorers of the past. So a stop there to reflect on the past is well worth the time.

Animals and Habitat

There is a variety of bird species. You could hear the grunting series of hoots of the Giant Eagle Owl or the enchanting shrill call of the Woodlands Kingfisher (after whom they are named). You might even hear the fluted notes of the elusive Crimson Breasted Shrike. So it’s basically a birders paradise.

Woodlands Stop Over and Lodge is well worth a visit.
