October is here, and there is plenty for families to look forward to. This month’s roundup brings together family-friendly events, creative workshops, markets, sports activities and fun outings for the little ones.
October is also Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and we have included meaningful events focused on awareness, early detection, support and community action. These are important opportunities for families and individuals to show support, learn more and take proactive steps towards health and wellness.

Mom Circle is hosting a free online Facilitators’ Training October 2026 Programme focused on supporting neurodivergent children at home and at school.
The sessions take place every Friday in October from 7:00pm to 8:00pm CAT and are designed to equip, support and empower moms, caregivers, teachers and facilitators with practical knowledge and strategies.

3rd Annual Molapo Pink Run

Clear Seventy Fitness is hosting the 3rd Annual Molapo Pink Run on Saturday, 17 October 2026, starting and finishing at Molapo Crossing Mall, Gaborone.
The event is held under the theme “Run for Hope. Run for Awareness.” and brings the community together in support of breast cancer awareness. Registration starts from 5:30am, with the race starting exactly at 6:00am.
Tebelopele Fun Run 2026

Tebelopele is hosting the Tebelopele Fun Run 2026 on Saturday, 17 October 2026, starting at 5:00am at Game City Mall, Gaborone.
This community fun run promotes health, wellness and positive living, bringing people together for an active morning. Participants can choose from different distance options, including 5km, 10km, 21km and 25km.
Craft a Magical Mason Jar by Urban_arts_by_W

Urban_arts_by_W is hosting a Magical & Mystical Craft Class at Edutoys on Saturday, 17 October 2026, from 10:30am to 12:00pm.
Children will get to craft their own magical mason jar, using creative materials to make a fun, colourful and imaginative piece to take home. The activity is open to boys and girls, making it a lovely hands-on workshop for young creatives.
Ladies’ Archery Afternoon

Active Generation Archery Club Gaborone is hosting a Ladies’ Archery Afternoon on Saturday, 17 October 2026 at Thornhill School. Participants can choose between two sessions: 2:00pm – 4:00pm or 4:00pm – 6:00pm.
This relaxed and fun afternoon is open to ladies aged 8 and above, making it a lovely activity for mums and daughters, sisters and friends. No experience is needed, all equipment will be provided, and friendly coaches will be there to guide everyone.
Women’s Self-Defence Class

Under the theme “One community. Many cultures. One unforgettable celebration,” the event will bring the school community together for a colourful day of culture, creativity and connection. Families can look forward to dance, a fashion show, poetry and traditional food, celebrating the different cultures represented within the school community.
Halloween Festival 2026 | Joy City, Former Tsholofelo Park

Halloween Festival 2026 is happening on Saturday, 31 October 2026, at Joy City, formerly Tsholofelo Park. Families can look forward to a fun Halloween-themed day with costumes, prizes and festive activities.
Children are allowed from 10:00am to 5:00pm, while the adult programme runs from 10:00am until late. Tickets are P100 for kids, P150 for a single adult ticket, and P250 for a double adult ticket. Cooler boxes are P50.
Jeans for Joy: Mama’s Table

Jeans for Joy: Mama’s Table is a networking and empowerment evening created for mothers in business to convene, connect and prosper. The event will take place on Friday, 31 October 2026, from 6:00pm to 10:00pm at Treehaus The Meeting Place.
Guests can look forward to an evening of dinner, networking and pitching, with an opportunity to connect with professionals and entrepreneurs who can offer guidance on business growth and overcoming challenges.
