As you know we love family friendly venues and days out. We enjoy excursions with our children but it can be tricky to know what’s open and what’s not over the Christmas holidays. We all know what it’s like to finally get your family to a destination to find it closed. So we did the calling around for you and here is what is open and what’s not.
Bounceland
This is a great place for the whole family to blow off some steam.
They are staying open most of the time. Closed on Christmas and News Year’s Day.
Gaborone Yacht Club
Sadly they are closed between 21st December to 12th of January. Luckily the beautiful sunsets will be there when they re-open!
Lily’s Petting Farm
Lily’s Petting Farm in Oodi provides agri-tainment and a fun farm picnic venue for the whole family. This is a great place to spend some family time.
They are closed between the 18th to 29th December
Open 30th 31st December to 2nd of January.
Normal opening times start from the 6th of January.
Lion Park
The Lion Park Resort is a theme and water park. They’re remaining open through out Christmas and are even open on Christmas day!
On the 30th of December they are also have a family fun day.
Notwane Equestrian Centre
They have a great set-up out on the banks of the Notwane river. Let your children have a supervised pony ride while you sit and relax with a cup of tea.
Closed 24th of December and re-open on the 3rd of January.
Sanitas Tea Garden
Sanitas Tea Garden is a great spot to have an ice cold homemade lemonade while your children play on the jungle gym. They have just launched a new look menu.
They close on the 23rd and re-open on the 5th of January.
The Honeycomb Hub
Have you visited tiny town yet?? This imaginative play is a new venture in Phakalane.
It’s closing on the 22nd. Then open 28th and 29th between 9-1pm but then close until the 8th of January. However fitness classes are available throughout but booking is essential.
The No1 Ladies Coffee House
This Gaborone Gem has a jungle gym and soft play area so is a great place to let you kids play while you enjoy the restaurant.
They are closed between the 22nd and 26th. They re-open on 27th to 30th. Closed again from the 31st-2nd.
The Wheelbarrow
I love the Wheelbarrow’s lawn and tea house. Sadly they are not really open over this festive season.
Closed on the 17th of December till the 9th of January
