Summer is finally here in Gaborone! Time to take off the coats and boots let loose by the poolside! I learnt how to swim much later in life, so summers were spent by the pool and not in the pool, which wasn’t fun. As much as I’m having fun now, I do believe everyone needs to know how to swim, which is why we’ll be giving you a round-up of swimming instructors in Gaborone!

DMSS
They are known to be one of the leaders of swimming instruction in Botswana. Their programs support learners from age 3 and above! Fun fact; some of their former students are great swimming instructors within this round-up.

Mai’s has a fantastic indoor heated pool and they offer lessons to everyone from the age of 2. They also have mom & baby classes that run in the morning, helping your baby gain more confidence in the water.

Phoenix swimming is coached by former Olympian, Samantha Paxinos. Who wouldn’t want to learn from her? She’s a qualified swimming instructor who offers swim lessons and fitness sessions for adults. Bonus!

These guys are amazing for both general learning and training to compete. Their core belief is that SWIMMING is for EVERYONE! They also teach diving, train lifeguards and do therapy swimming.

Waterbabies Gaborone Aquatic Center
Waterbabies is owned by Debbie and Craig Rouse, who have about 35 years of swimming experience. Since inception in 2005, they have taught and coached over 6000 children and 2500 adults, including one of our first Botswana Olympians, John Kamyuka.
